Our final (half-) day in South Carolina, we went on a walking tour of Charleston, saw the famous historic sites and mansions, again tried to avoid the rainstorms (this time with the help of umbrellas from Walmart!), and ate lunch at the thoroughly southern Jestine’s Kitchen… [...]
We spent one of our days in Charleston caffeinating at Starbucks, browsing our way through the historic City Market, buying Christmas presents, avoiding sudden downpours, and popping into random shops. Maria also managed to lose a tooth (who knew she still could at age 14 + 3/4 ?)! [...]
The Forsythe family summer vacation (sadly, minus our Thai sister Elena) was in South Carolina this year. First, Hilton Head (site of The Engagement) then, Charleston (which, I learned, is sometimes called “The Holy City”)!

I can hardly believe that I have put my dear blog on the farthest possible back burner for nearly 3 months! Finishing classes, taking exams, traveling here and there every other week (D.C., Chicago, Colorado Springs, Chicago, Phoenix, Chicago, NW Indiana, Philadelphia to Chicago x 2…), spending time with friends and family, making Big Life [...]
Days 5, 6, & 7 (Jack, my sister Caroline’s boyfriend, joined our party on Day 5!) What a wonderful vacation. Sigh. I’m already looking forward to next year!
